Also known as The Sugar Palace, Houmas House reflects the best parts of each period in its rich history alongside the big bend in the Mississippi River.
Many sitting areas have been provided around the property to invite guests to sit and experience the year-round grandeur of the ancient oak alley, the fragrance of spring and summer blooms and the sights and sounds of bird life, wildlife and plantation life of long ago. This swing in particular caught my eye!
About Patricia Dennis
"I like my work to be viewed as visual poetry"! Patricia finds nothing more inspiring and precious than capturing an image that can be treasured for a lifetime. Most of her photographs are taken in her home area of Northern California where there is a vast array of natural wonders to behold. Patricia has displayed her art in galleries and has won awards at juried shows. Some of her images can also be seen in her book "DreamLight'. Patricia is currently displaying at Aegis Gallery, Old Basin Way, Saratoga, and Coastal Art League in Half Moon Bay. This is one of the most beautiful perspectives on this glorious plantation I've ever seen! And I must say, this is among my favorites of the homes along the River Road. I would think Patricia that they would want this image for their advertising - they'd be crazy not to buy it!! Gorgeous!! F/L T P
